Big Rude Jake started his career flying solo in Toronto. In time, he established 'The Gentleman Players' which gathered quite a following across Canada. The band did fairly well but not quite to their expectations. They recorded 'Butane Fumes & Bad Cologne' in '93 and in '96, changed directions with their next release, 'Blue Pariah' -- a wickedly fierce albumn with harsh lyrics. This albumn pulled them away from the swing crowd and more to an alternative rock genre. They had distribution issues, partly due to a tight budget and the band broke up. Big Rude Jake left and headed for New York during the height of the swing revival. After about seven months, he released 'Big Rude Jake' which took him on tours of Europe where he lived the big life. However, this was short lived and in two years was out searching once again. In '02 he recorded 'Live Faust, Die Jung' but disappeared in '06. While life has taken Jake and his music in many different directions, he came full circle back to Toronto where he took up individual gigs again. He has changed angles once again and partnered with a Toronto producer. They plan to put something out in the summer of 2008.
